Second Day of First Round

Day 2 didn’t have too many surprising results. Duke effortlessly killed Arkansas 73-44. One of the best players on the Blue Devils, Kyle Singler, had 22 points and 10 rebounds for Duke. The team never trailed behind, and made DI basketball look pretty easy.

Quite the opposite, No. 5 seed Temple struggled today losing to Cornell. This was the first win for an Ivy League team since 1998. Unfortunately a few of my friends go to Temple University and I was rooting for them expecting a win, although Temple hasn’t won a first round within the last 5 years.

Wisconsin got in a sticky situation almost losing to Wofford in this round, but they pulled through within the last few minutes when it really counted.

There wasn’t much excitement this round, Purdue defeated Siena, 72-64, and Michigan St. beat New Mexico in a close game, 70-67.
